The Schwansener See nature reserve (NSG Schwansener See) is a NATURA 2000 protected area in Schleswig-Holstein, located in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district on the Schwansen peninsula in the municipalities of Brodersby and Dörphof on the Kiel Bay. It is part of the Schleswig-Holstein Hills main natural area. It covers an area of 202 hectares. Its greatest extent lies to the northeast, measuring 2.3 km. The highest elevation, at 3 m above sea level, is on the FFH area boundary at the northern edge, near the beach. The northern boundary is formed by the intensively managed grasslands of the Hof Lückeberg stud farm and riding stable. To the west and south, the boundary runs along the protective dike surrounding Lake Schwansen. To the east, the boundary runs from the outflow of Lake Schwansen, approximately 250 m from the beach, into the Baltic Sea to the northern boundary.

The path west of the stairs has been destroyed by the storm surge, here you have to push through deep sand. The scenery is very beautiful

The restored megalithic tomb from the Neolithic period is not only impressive with its dimensions, everything here is beautifully laid out and a bench invites you to take a break

Wonderfully quiet area for cycling. You can really enjoy nature. Although sometimes the tree roots under the asphalt make themselves felt. Of course, only for short sections

The roof of the bird station is freely accessible and offers a good all-round view. The nesting swallows under the roof are also exciting.
