Rondvassbu is the DNT cabin in the very heart of the Rondane National Park and is deservedly popular. Originally built in 1903, the facility has seen many renovations in its time and provides unrivalled access to Rondane’s major peaks and trails. If you plan to camp nearby, you can still pay for the use of the facilities and purchase food.

Leirvassbu is a mecca for mountain hiking adventures. This large cabin was previously privately owned before the DNT took it over in 2023. The facilities are excellent and the surroundings are epic.

A beautiful, spacious, and comfortable cabin. The cabin can be reached either by boat or via the hiking trail that runs north of Lake Gjende from the eastern to the western end of the lake. From the cabin, you can take a day hike to the summit of Surtningssue Mountain.

The top spot in Norway. Even in summer, there's snow there, and the weather can be really bad. But when it's sunny, you can see the surroundings so well. There are also small binoculars, and the hut is right next to it. A place I highly recommend. It's not easy to get there, but it's worth it.

A great starting point for a walk, picnic, or dinner. A lovely swimming spot and overnight campervan accommodation (for a fee at the hotel).

A very nice hut and a good starting point for various day hikes. Easily accessible on foot, by car, or by public bus from Lom/Fossbergom.

One of Norway's largest DNT cabins, Leirvassbu is an ideal base for exploring some of Jotunheimen's high peaks. A run from here to the scramble to the summit of Kyrkja is glorious.
