      The Peer Gynt Hytta are a few small, rustic huts in the west of the Rondane Mountains. Here you can spend a cozy coffee break with a delicious waffle and enjoy the view over the vastness of the Fell. The river on the doorstep invites you to refresh yourself.

          The huts are absolutely picturesque, the rocky landscape around the raging river is also worth seeing. As soon as the café opens again (closed in Corona time 2020), try the famous waffles.

                We were absolutely thrilled by the small "hut village" with the grass roofs of the tiny huts and the nice café in the middle of the magnificent landscape of moss and boulders, mountains and an endless cloudy sky!

                  The route starts at the car park and from there it goes towards the mountain. The first river crossing can be mastered easily with your shoes off. In mid-September there is nothing going on in the village itself and it is deserted. The second river crossing is no longer passable from mid-September (we were there on 20 September) as the boards for crossing are pulled out over the winter. The current is relatively strong! A bypass is possible by returning to the village and after one of the first crossings again. To do this, follow the river down the other side to the same road (no guarantee of solid ground!). The hike is easy until mid-September, after that it is not an easy task due to the large amount of water and lack of crossing options.

                        In the summer of 2021 you could see the following posted on the hut about the payment options:
                        "Contant radio operator alltid, kortterminal som regel, VIPPS kanskje..." 😂😂😂
                        Incidentally, the hut operators boast on their own made T-shirts that they bake the best waffles in Norway.

                            The suspension bridge is unfortunately not more ... But a nice alternative route over the three peaks above. Overall, nice, easy 5-hour tour, a bit condition provided.
