You can find these small, chilled out lounge areas with furniture right on the bathing jetty on the property of Haus Tornow am See, whose future is completely uncertain after the fire. At the end of August 2023, the entire roof structure of the old manor house burned out, so it is currently closed until further notice. Drinks, cakes and other small items could be purchased self-service in the garden pavilion. Now we have to keep our fingers crossed that operations can be resumed in the usual way at some point...

The marketplace is the center of the old spa town of Buckow. The fountain in the middle of the square was donated by the Buckow citizenship in 1924 as "Born of new vitality", as a plaque on the back reveals.

In principle, it is not possible to see the Schermützelsee from this point, unless the author means the information board with the map of Buckow located at the parking lot at the Buckow school bus loop 😊. There are two nearby options for looking at the lake: the former dormitory of the "Theodor Fontane" holiday home, which has since been demolished (image 2) and the view of the lake above the Himmelsleiter (https://www.komoot.de/highlight/95643).
