This restaurant is no longer in business. What a shame!

The Old Post Office now houses the Hotel Anklamer Hof with a good restaurant.

We stayed one night at the hotel to start our tour around the prison. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast. The bikes could be stored in a locked garage.

The Lion Monument was erected in the park to honor the fallen soldiers of both World Wars.

When water splashes, you feel a little refreshed in summer. But while the griffin on the market has been surrounded by water again since the end of June and the little elephant on the Neuer Markt is happily spraying water from its trunk, the frog fountain in the city park in Anklam (Vorpommern-Greifswald district) and the water feature on the Peene pedestrian bridge are dry. What's going on?

The current town hall was built around 1950 and is a listed building. A town hall built around 1400 was demolished in 1842, and a subsequent building was destroyed by bombs in 1945.

You can take a leisurely walk in the Anklam city forest. The trees are very young in places, but the paths are mostly easy to walk on, there are numerous benches and rubbish bins. There is a large sports field to the east.
