300 year old oak tree on the path

The former mill stands high up on a dune - with a once fantastic view of the Szczecin Lagoon. It served as a guide for fishermen. Built in 1913, it was in operation until the 1950s, then fell into disrepair. After being privately purchased, the conversion to a café began in 1988. Unfortunately, major changes were made to the exterior, and all the technology was lost. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, work was stopped, and then the cap disappeared too. After being sold again, the mill is now being converted into a residential building. The wings have been removed. From the altwarp website

One might ask how dunes are formed so far inland... The answer would be: during the last ice age, during centuries of thawing, these fine sands were transported into the lagoon by meltwater rivers and then piled up by the wind.
