Beautiful historic buildings in the town

When water splashes, you feel a little refreshed in summer. But while the griffin on the market has been surrounded by water again since the end of June and the little elephant on the Neuer Markt is happily spraying water from its trunk, the frog fountain in the city park in Anklam (Vorpommern-Greifswald district) and the water feature on the Peene pedestrian bridge are dry. What's going on?

The Anklam stone gate from the 13th century is a city gate, the only surviving city gate in the Hanseatic city of Anklam.

The building with the four-story clock tower was built around 1904 and originally housed the teachers' seminar and the preparatory institute. The high school, which was built in 1847, moved to the building complex on Leipziger Allee in 1926. Over the years, various types of schools were housed here before the school became a high school again after reunification in 1991. The building complex with gymnasium is a listed building.
