Very exposed gorge at over 2,000 meters, in some places the valley is over 100 meters steep. The path is insured by ropes and rope railings, although a short stretch is unsecured when crossing a stream. Mountain experience and sure-footedness are prerequisites for this hike. The Elsenklamm is part of the so-called Berliner Höhenweg.
