Great tradition. Plant a tree for the wedding. That's the way it is with marriage - you grow and, if everything goes well, you get through some storms, good weather and rainy seasons ...

If you walk from the old village center, from the church down the small lane to the wildlife park and stand on the wooden bridge over the Wietze, you will see many different small individual trees with signs, see benches that invite you to rest and a lovingly tended area. This is the Müdener Hochzeitsweg with the beautiful trees on the left and right of the path and along the Wietze.

It all started about 30 years ago near the old water mill on the Örtze. The idea came from Ilse Bädke, Michael Hoffmann and the tourist office in Müden/Austria. The tourist office no longer exists. Married couples who had been married upstairs in the mill - in the wedding room - were able to plant a tree in front of and next to the weir and up to the Heidesee. The first Müden wedding trees are still there today. Information about the names of the happy couples and the wedding date is given on small signs.

This idea was so well received in Müden, in the entire Faßberg community, that the mill became cramped. The Müllernhof with the Springhorn family stepped in. Since then, not only wedding trees of newly married couples have been planted on the Kirchtwiete, which is the name of the small lane through the former farmer's forest at the wildlife park and on the Wietze, but also trees on the occasion of silver, gold and diamond weddings were and are used here.
