Straussee

Unfortunately, the level of the lake has been steadily decreasing since 2014. By coincidence, an efficient waterworks was put into operation nearby at the same time, which increased its flow rate by approximately the value by which the performance of the waterworks in Erkner (both waterworks belonging to the WSE water association Strausberg - Erkner) was throttled. Long live the "climate change" ...!

Beautiful lake with many wild bathing places. But there is also an official bath.

If you hike or cycle here, you have a wonderful view of the lake. In addition, the lake has an excellent water quality.

At the beginning of March the water was too cold and the lake was very quiet - in summer there is something going on here - excursion tip!

A highlight is the electrically operated ferry.

In order to scientifically clarify the causes of the dramatic loss of water of the ostrich and to contribute to taking effective countermeasures, in February 2019 the association Citizens' Initiative for the Preservation of the Straussee e.V.
