In the forest above Lengstein is the "Hexenbödele", a small clearing on which a single larch towers. This is equipped with a conspicuous "witches broom", i. i. a dense growth of branches and twigs, and at its base is a large crucifix and some crude wooden chairs.
It is said that the witches of the area often met here at night in the olden days and held wild feasts with the devil. That's why the "Bödele" was avoided like the devil avoids holy water.
