Today's festival hall was built in 1926 for the Thiersee Passion Plays. Rather unassuming on the outside, the sonorous building impresses on the inside. An architectural masterpiece made of wood. Whereby the masterpiece unfolds above the heads of the visitors. An artistic, wooden roof structure realized by Alois Kaindl, a Thiersee carpenter, who also excelled as a passionate passion player and Christus performer. The ceiling vault is an elaborate pointed arch construction. Four artistic arches. Stefansbögen. A combination of static necessity and appealing aesthetics. The Gothic-like appearance is reminiscent of magnificent cathedral buildings.
