Fascination of GDR two-wheelers - on 300m² of exhibition space, two-wheeler fans can examine a variety of sports and racing machines as well as special vehicles

The museum of the Jürgenstorfer Oldtimerclub e.V. opened the two-wheeler museum in the "Radhaus" in Jürgenstorf on January 29th, 2007. On an exhibition area of over 300m², visitors are presented with 110 two-wheelers of various types that were produced in the post-war period up until the end of the GDR. These include brands such as MZ, SIMSON, JAWA, Panonia, IWL and TROLL. This inventory now includes all types of 50 cc two-wheelers ever produced in the Suhl vehicle and equipment factory, from 1955 to the end of the GDR in 1990. That's an impressive 63 different models. Starting with an SR1 from the first month of production with chassis number 324 to the last models of SR50, S51, S70 and SR80. The vintage car club thus has the most complete Simson collection in the world, which is proudly presented in Jürgenstorf.

The museum building also houses the "Radhaus" restaurant and four guest rooms.

      Museum opening times:

May to September: Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

October to April: Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Individual opening times can be arranged by telephone.

      Admission: EUR 3.00 per person
