The mining town of Pobershau was founded at the beginning of the 16th century to use newly discovered iron ores. The first mention of a “Drey Molchen treasure trove” was in 1529 because of good silver finds. The mine's highest yield was achieved in 1540, and later the mining operation suffered greatly during the Thirty Years' War. From the 17th century onwards, mainly tin mining took place until mining stopped during this period in 1866. In 1936–1938 the mine field was probably examined for mining suitability as part of the four-year plan; The last time ore was mined was from 1947 to 1954 by SDAG Wismut.

In the middle of Pobershau you will find the visitor Berkwerk Molchner Stolln. The tour takes about 1 hour, without this you must not underground. But without leadership, it would not be half as good, because only the expert explanations introduce into the old mining world. There is still a small but fine café with homemade cake and a nice selection of souvenirs. There is a restaurant right next to the entrance to the lodge, where we were not, as we had a picnic with us. Unfortunately, I also forgot to take a photo of the opening or leadership times. You have to ask the internet. Is this a recommendation? Of course.

Not just something to look at from the outside, a guided tour is also worthwhile. The guide is very nice, the guide is harmless but adventurous and the history is very interesting.
