The baroque building was built between 1737 and 1741 on the site of a medieval chapel that dates back to the 12th century (first mentioned in 1141). The lower part of the tower, which once also served as a defensive tower, is still preserved from the previous building. The late Gothic choir room is located there. The curved tower top dates from 1822 after the previous structure fell into disrepair.
