Well paved road and an equally good bike path next to it. I recommend the bike path when climbing (to Brüngsberg, then it gets bad) and the road on the downhill, because the bike path is quite narrow and it is difficult to see in a bend whether someone might come up from below. There are only two places to cycle on the bike path: once directly at the foot of the mountain (starting at the Nonnenberg basalt works) and if you miss the opportunity, there is another chance after a few meters. Otherwise, the guardrail is pulled through for a while and / or you have to walk over grass. ;)

Up and down very nice to drive. Uphill the side bike path is definitely recommended.
