The ascent / descent to / from the summit via the north or south ridge requires sure-footedness and a head for heights. You will be rewarded with great ridge walks and beautiful views of the Schlier and Spitzingsee, towards Bodenschneid, the Freudenreich chapel on the opposite ridge section and into the valley basin with the Ankelalm. It is also recommended to exceed it, e.g. for a circular hike around the Brecherspitzkessel or a hike from Neuhaus to Spitzingsee.
