Station No. 112 (Wachberg) is a 2nd order station of the triangular network of the Royal Saxon Triangulation. The optical measuring devices were fixed on the monoliths in the 19th century in order to target other stations for surveying purposes. Most of these technical monuments are still preserved and since they all stand on hilltops, they always offer a great view of Saxony, specifically here of Leipzig.
From this station the 1st order stations No. 20 (Leipzig), as well as the 2nd order stations No. 110 (Schwarzeberg), No. 111 (Markstein), No. 113 (Grenzhübel) and No. 114 (Wachau) were targeted , Unfortunately station 20 the Pleissenburg in Leipzig was demolished in 1897. In addition to a beautiful water tower that is open occasionally, there are also memories of the Battle of the Nations. Benches invite you to rest.
