There is a link from the path to the Pasterzer Glacier up to the Gamsgrubenweg (not yet listed on the Komootkarte). So you do not have to go back the same way from the glacier, but can ascend to the Emperor Franz Josef height. The path could be described as A / B via ferrata, but is also good to do without a via ferrata set. However, people with little experience can recommend a backup. The path is partially secured with rope, but there are also some unsecured passages. The red and white waymarks are easy to find.
