It doesn't get any narrower on Sylt: Only about 600 metres separate the wild west coast from the calm mudflat side. Nevertheless – or perhaps precisely because of it – you can have a perfect holiday here: seven kilometres of the finest sandy beach, an original small sailing harbour, many pretty thatched-roof houses, the finest entertainment in the Meerkabarett and Kursaal, real Rantum fish on the plate, wonderful tranquility and yet only a ten-minute drive from the lively island centre.
