The Rantumer Dünen / Sylt are a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein communities of Sylt and Hörnum (Sylt) in the district of North Friesland.
The approximately 397 hectare nature reserve is entered under number 78 in the list of nature reserves of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas. It was expelled in 1973 (date of regulation: February 28, 1973). The nature reserve borders the nature reserve "Baakdeel-Rantum / Sylt" in the north and the nature reserve "North Frisian Wadden Sea" in the east. It is part of the FFH area “Dünenlandschaft Sylt-Süd” and the EU bird sanctuary “Schleswig-Holsteinisches Wattenmeer and adjacent coastal areas”. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of North Frisia.
The nature reserve is located between Rantum and Hörnum on the island of Sylt. It protects the dune landscape in almost the entire width of the island in this area. In the west, the nature reserve is bordered by the seaward foot of the edge dune, in the east by the mid-tide flood line in the Wadden Sea.
