The Jakobspitze (2742m) can be climbed in a beautiful circular hike from the Durnholzer See (1535m), ascending via Tellerjoch (2520m) and continuing over the western ridge (be careful of slippery boulders). The summit cross only comes into view relatively late. From up here there is a great view of the Dolomites and Sarntal Alps. In total, you will climb around 1250 meters.
For the descent, it is recommended to hike down quickly and easily over boulders and gravel via the Flaggerscharte. One spot before the Flaggerscharte is secured. Via the Flaggerscharte (Marburger) hut (approx. 2500m) with good opportunities to stop for a break, the long path leads down into the valley floor to the Durnholzer See. Total hiking time approx. 7 hours.
