This is a spectacular 2,644-foot (806 m) high summit plateau, the highest land in the Gros Morne National Park. It can be a harsh environment, particularly in winter. However, it rewards the intrepid with fantastic views and an array of interesting wildlife, such as Arctic hares, rock ptarmigan and Arctic-alpine plants.

While it is the most exhausting hike in Gros Morne National Park, it's nowhere near as "gruelling" or "devastating" as some of the leaflets or websites tell you. If you are a seasoned hiker, this hike will be no problem for you. It takes about 6 hours, and you are rewarded with insanely beautiful views of the national park. I've seen quite some scenery during the last years, but have never seen something like this. Reminds me a little of the outer hebrides, but with higher mountains.
