The Batteries on the Overeindseweg are part of the New Dutch Waterline. The defense line served from 1815 to around 1940 and was built as an outpost of Fort Jutphaas. After the fortress site has been closed for 100 years, it will be a publicly accessible place from the end of 2016. There are six objects on the fort site, including bunkers, a concrete guardhouse and a wooden artillery shed. Hard work is currently being done at De Batterijen on the redesign of the historic site.
