If you want to start the tour with the Levada do Alecrim, you should still park here and walk the road to the Rabaçal parking lot. This is a strenuous start (2km steadily uphill), but at the end after the 3 levadas you can enjoy a great view of the south coast through the (higher) tunnel (depending on the time of day even a great sunset). The forest path from the tunnel portal to the Parkplatt is still manageable even with poor light.
