The Castra Vetoniana fort is strategically located very well on the UNESCO World Heritage Site LIMES. The Limes is often a dead straight border through forest and field, it was the border north of the Alps and separated the Roman Empire from the Teutons.

The rebuilt parts convey the enormous size of this structure. We now know that the tower must have been higher. I think the two Romans who sit in their guard room are very nice :) This place is now used more often for weddings in the community.
