The Katharinenhof was founded in 1912 and 1913 as a fruit estate by the sisters Katharina and Eva Veit Simon, members of a bourgeois Jewish family.
The sisters were forced to sell the farm in 1938. The entire family did not survive the rule of the National Socialists.
In the 1950s, it was leased to a gardener in Granse, housing in the house for the staff of the nearby hospital. In the 1990s, fruit production finally ceased.
The estate was retransferred to the descendants of the Veit Simons in 1995. Finally, it was empty - until the club "Treffpunkt Katharinenhof" buys it from the community of heirs.
