Here it emerges as a meadow brook from the mountain park. While it used to flow through Kassel in the same form, today an underground pipe system ensures the transport of water. From the Hercules pyramid to the fountain at the bottom of the castle, the course of the water can be easily followed.

Nowadays the Lac with ducks and swans is not only a popular place for Sunday walks, but also a well-known meeting place for biologists and other interested people. Because in the evening, especially on mild summer evenings, you will find a large number of bats of various species.
