The shaft Sainte Marie is one of the coal mines of Ronchamp. He was used between 1866 and 1958 very irregularly for coal mining. The reinforced concrete hoisting tower dates back to 1924, and since March 29, 2001, this last remaining architectural witness to coal mining in Ronchamp has been a monument historique.
