The incorporated after Waldsassen village Hatzenreuth in the district Tirschenreuth, Upper Palatinate in Bavaria (Germany) is located near the German-Czech border. Worth seeing in the village are some beautiful half-timbered buildings, which are built in the so-called Egerländer style. The town center is the 1963 built Brother Klaus chapel, which was to serve the memory of men killed in the war and as a symbolic replacement for the then unattainable pilgrimage churches in Wies and Maria Loreto in the former Cheb. The population is currently at about 80. In 1985, a partnership was established with Thurston, Nebraska, USA. In 1993, a remarkable wagon trailer was rebuilt just a few meters from its original location. The so-called Veith'n-Schupf'm was a building in which tools for harvesting and processing flax were stored. Its origins date back to 1776. In the year 2000 Hatzenreuth scored in the district decision of the competition Our village should be more beautiful / Our village has future the first place.

Nice little place with great half-timbered houses.
