The station No. 75 (Neukirchen) is a 2nd order station of the Dreicknetzes of the Royal Saxon triangulation. On the monoliths, the optical gauges were fixed in the 19th century to target other stations for surveying purposes. Most of these technical monuments are still preserved and since they are all on hilltops, they always offer a great view of Saxony as their destination.
From this station were the stations 1st order No. 12 (Baeyerhöhe) and No. 36 (Freiberg), and the stations 2nd order No. 74 (Katzenberg), No. 76 (Unkersdorfer Steinhübel), No. 77 (Opitzhöhe) and no. 96 (Obergruna).
