The "Groß Bruck" or "Scala Bridge" is a bridge over the Danube in Tuttlingen. It was built between 1913 and 1915 as a reinforced concrete structure based on designs by the Rottweil road construction inspector Frösner, replacing the old wooden bridge from 1856. It is a four-span reinforced concrete bridge with an integrated weir system. The abutments and piers are founded on rock beneath the Danube gravel; each pier supports a bridge house housing the electric motors for the traps. The bridge formed the main access to the city center. A movable weir is integrated into the bridge, which dams the Danube waters. The 2006 renovation added an accompanying pedestrian walkway.
