For the majority of hikers about to begin the Yorkshire Wolds Way, this sculpture, set in the shadow of the mighty Humber Bridge, marks the start of the national trail. However, the official start is actually 0.5 miles (0.8 km) back in Hessle.

Great place to start The Wolds Way. Starting at Hessle there is a gradual incline. There is parking at the start and is protected from the rising tide.
