The town of Lucens, which is well worth seeing, lies on the Broye stream and is dominated by the fairytale-like Château de Lucens. The castle is on a hill and with its turrets and annexes it looks like something straight out of a picture book. In Lucens you will find a good selection of restaurants and supermarkets. The place can also be reached by train.

A little town or a big village with all what you need to have a break :
- many restaurants (from Kebab to high gastronomy through pizzeria, Chinese and traditional),
- 2 supermarkets (Denner, Coop),
- the Sherlock Holmes Museum (the son of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle lived a while in the castel) (lucens.ch/sherlockholmes)
- village from Pascal Baertschi who travelled around the world in a bit less that 6 years (pascalbaertschi.ch/)
- and the view on the (private) castel.
Public toilets are near the main bridge in the midle of the town.
From there, you will find 6 trails around Lucens (sdlucens.ch/nos_parcours.html)
