The small Chapel of St. Anthony of Padua in Vrsar is a picturesque example of Istrian Renaissance architecture. Its location and furnishings made it not only religiously significant, but also urbanistically and socially significant—a protective, stylish structure that continues to delight visitors today.

The small Chapel of St. Anthony of Padua in Vrsar was built in 1656 in the Venetian Renaissance style from limestone and is located directly next to the Small Town Gate, where it once symbolically protected the town. Its simple façade with a small bell tower is complemented by an open porch with a wooden roof supported by ten columns, a typical element of Istrian church architecture. Inside, it houses a richly decorated Baroque altar with an altarpiece from 1662 depicting the Virgin and Child, St. Anthony, St. Sebastian, and St. Roch. The church, built after wars and the plague as an expression of piety and protection, was extensively restored in 2010 and is today one of the most atmospheric small sacred buildings in Vrsar.
