At dawn on March 10, 1943, 149 Koblenz citizens were taken from their homes and gathered at several locations in the city.
They were then taken in trucks from the police station at the Liebfrauenkirche to the main train station.

Hundreds of Sinti and Roma from Koblenz and the surrounding communities were also interned and mostly deported to camps where they died. The Memorial Against Forgetting in Koblenz is located in the Mainanlage not far from the Deutsches Eck. It is a simple, hardly conspicuous stone.
