La Tour est un des vestiges du château de Montagny-les-Monts. Ce château, construit au 12e siècle, surveillit la route de Friborg vers le port d'Estavayer-le-Lac. Les ruines du château ont servi de carrière.

The tower is one of the last remains of the castle of Montagny-les-Monts. This 12th century castle monitored the road from Freiburg to the port of Estavayer-le-Lac. The castle ruin served as a career.
