The Mainzer Tor (Spitzer Turm) is a late medieval gate tower, first mentioned in 1379, on the western edge of the old town of Miltenberg and at that time it was the outermost western boundary of the city. The coat of arms of Mainz Archbishop Adolf I of Nassau, during whose reign (1371-1390) the mighty tower was built, is emblazoned above the gateway.
