The Danube Valley is always worth a bike tour. The landscape is enchanting and the well-maintained cycle paths make a tour here a pleasure for both beginners and experienced touring cyclists. Stopping off and enjoying Swabian cuisine is no problem anywhere.

The Upper Danube Nature Park is located in the south of Baden-Württemberg and includes large parts of the districts of Tuttlingen, Sigmaringen, Zollernalb and Biberach. It was founded on December 5th, 1980 and is one of a total of seven nature parks in Baden-Württemberg.

The protected area covers 1,496 square kilometers along the Danube and its tributaries Bära and Lauchert between Tuttlingen and Herbertingen. It is administered by the registered association of the same name based in Beuron, where the most impressive part of the Danube breakthrough through the Swabian Alb can be hiked.

A few meters further in the direction of Friedingen there is a valley in which spring flowers are blooming.

Here the Danube valley narrows and becomes rockier. The Upper Danube Valley nature reserve also begins here.

From here on, the next few kilometers are super idyllic and quiet, apart from hikers and cyclists there is almost nothing going on
