Coming from Potsdam, it is always slightly downhill. As good as free of sand.

The trail follows the route of the old Luckenwalder Straße. This was interrupted during the construction of the Berlin Outer Ring railway line in the 1950s. The road led to Wilhelmshorst, Langerwisch, and Wildenbruch. From there, it remains today as the L73 to Luckenwalde. The nearest bridge over the Outer Ring is at Nesselgrund on the B2 "Michendorfer Chaussee." To reach it, turn right at the shelter onto Caputher Heuweg from Potsdam. For cyclists, the old Luckenwalder Straße is now a good, wide, finely graveled forest path, with hardly any sand even in summer. For cyclists who prefer asphalt, the path is the best alternative to the noisy cycle path along the B2.
