The 2,260-meter long cobbled street "Paddestraat" is Flanders' most famous cyclist scourge. Once it was part of a Roman "Via" between Boulogne-sur-Mer and Cologne. In 1995 it was declared a national cultural monument. Here is also the Flanders Tour memorial, in which the names of all Ronde winners since 1973 are listed, the year in which the Paddestraat was added to the course.
