The industrial park was founded on January 1, 2001 on the industrial site of Wolff Walsrode AG, which was founded in 1815. The Walsrode Industrial Park was initially operated by Dow Wolff Cellulosics GmbH, a business unit of the Dow Chemical Company, which took over Wolff Walsrode AG in 2007 and further expanded the site. After a takeover by DuPont (2017/2018), there was another change of ownership in 2021, this time to International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF).
