On the top of the town of Gallifa, the remains of the castle of Gallifa rise. Part of the walls that surround the hill where it was built are preserved, with two fortified portals, the Romanesque chapel and some vestiges of other buildings, such as those of a circular tower. The castle has been documented since 999, but Iberian remains from the 8th century BC have been found that show the occupation of the place from a very remote time. Inside the walled enclosure of the old castle of Gallifa and in its highest part, is the hermitage of Santa Maria del Castell, documented since 1078 as a parish and in a very good state of conservation, since it was restored and has been converted into the Church of the "Mother of God of Ecology".

The enclosure is guarded by a very nice and familiar person, who upon entering received me cordially and told me stories and details of the castle that, together with the panoramic views and the natural charm of the place, more than fulfilled the expectations of my visit, making it very special and thinking of repeating it. The venue can be visited every day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Wednesdays, as indicated by the schedule in one of the photographs.

Dear Banderas, after discussing with you the frustrated visit to the Castle last Wednesday, I decided to return following your recommendation but you won't believe it, it was also closed today, Monday, so for now I will have to content myself with your photographs. Thank you
