The old Protestant church in the neo-Romanesque style was built by Carl Ferdinand Stumm in 1881/82 according to the plans of Ferdinand Schorbach (1846 - 1912), a student and collaborator of Edwin Oppler, who had designed the castle on the Halberg. Until then, the Protestant inhabitants of Brebach had to attend the service in St. Arnual or Bischmisheim.
