The hose tower is often a striking sign of a fire station. The main purpose of the hose tower is to dry pressure hoses after use. This was especially important when the hoses were still made of hemp. With today's artificial fiber materials, it still makes sense to dry the tubes, but not necessarily anymore.
In the hose tower, the hoses are attached to the two hose couplings with a pulley. So they hang straight and can dry out and air well. The length of the B-hoses of 20 m results in a necessary height of at least 10 m.
