The hermitage on the Rochlitzer Berg was built in 1817 by Christian Gottlob Seidel, a quarry owner. Two rocks were connected by a wall, creating a small, chapel-like building. In the Romantic period, this place attracted many hikers and still serves as an idyllic rest stop today.

Christian Gottlob Seidel built the "hermitage" in 1817. To do this, he connected two high rocks with a front wall. The result was a chapel-like stone building, the front of which was given a Gothic character by the windows. The hermitage was decorated with two large figures made of white sandstone, which probably came from a tomb.
