The Château de Rambouillet, whose construction began in 1368, was the secondary residence of Louis XVI and Napoleon. It was then the presidents who lived there, from 1896 to 2009. In July 1960, Charles de Gaulle and Konrad Adenauer signed a Franco-German treaty in the castle.

Today it is mostly used for international conferences. The park offers beautiful natural landscapes, with bodies of water and a very welcoming atmosphere.

The castle was built in 1368 by Jean Bernier. It was the summer residence of French presidents for over 100 years, from 1896 to 2009.
