The elevation is actually 1076m at the end of the paved road. A large parking area with restrooms, pure mountain drinking water fountains, and a restaurant are the last opportunities for food, electricity, and communication until hiking up to the huts near the summit. Note the mountain huts are closed from the last week of October to April, and the upper trails often covered in snow.

The distance from Litochoro to Prionia is about 22 km well paved road there is a bus that goes up on Friday Saturday Sunday at 7 clock in the morning. The drinking water on prionia is of a very good quality the food in the restaurant is also very good and the prices are within reasonable limits
