Some parts of the route are 'only' tough hikes, while other parts are classified as via ferrata.

Hardly worth mentioning as a via ferrata destination, but simply great as an easier mountain tour. The ascent through the forest over several hundred Hm root stairs is just great (albeit crisp). The climb itself offers beautiful views and all the exposed or difficult parts have been secured with ropes. A ladder was placed over the slab (which would have been really exciting to scramble on) so that you can easily walk up there. The via ferrata set is really only required for the inexperienced. Rockfalls should be kept within limits as long as nobody climbs the two routes of the Pölven south face.

The Lengauer / Lengerer Steig or also called Prof. Sinwel Steig leads from the western side to the Pölven. The difficulty does not exceed level B and it is also quite short. Alpine experience and sure-footedness an advantage. Insurance is in good condition and the climb is also very little frequented. It's never really exposed, but a head for heights doesn't hurt.
