Very nice circuit around the Hintersteiner lake. The first half is paved the second half leads through the forest. The second half is always up and down. Depending on the condition, hiking sticks are helpful here. At the beginning and in the middle of the trail are restaurants that invite you to take a break.

The lake Hintersteiner See is picturesquely situated at the foot of the Widen Kaiser. It is interesting that the lake is dammed on one side of the lake ("front") and on the other side ("back"), the water is derived for power generation along the stone stairs.

At the Hintersteiner lake, in the Wilder Kaiser nature reserve, in whose waters the peaks of the Kaisergebirge are impressively reflected, there is a public bathing beach, where you can also swim. A visit is also worthwhile if you do not want to swim, because the area around the lake with its meadows and forests, invites the visitor and viewer to stay and relax. Beautiful restaurants on the lake or near the lake complete the offer.
Especially beautiful is the lake tour. Here again and again an impressive picture, on the one hand the wonderful panorama and on the other hand the mountain peaks of the Wilden Kaiser reflect again and again in the lake.
