The Hintersteiner See is a fantastically beautiful bathing lake in the middle of the Wilder Kaiser nature reserve with crystal-clear water and a lido. The lake is 56 hectares in size and up to 36 meters deep.
A beautiful path leads around the lake, which is asphalted from the car park to the Goingstätthof snack station to the west and is therefore also suitable for pushchairs. The south bank, on the other hand, rises slightly and offers fantastic views of the Wilder Kaiser reflected in the water. A popular photo motif!
A large parking lot is available for a fee. The circular route is also a wonderful hike in winter!

Very nice circular route around the Hintersteiner See. The first half is paved, the second half is through the forest. The second half is always up and down. Depending on your condition, hiking sticks can be helpful here. At the beginning and in the middle of the circular route there are restaurants that invite you to take a break.

At Hintersteiner See, in the Wilder Kaiser nature reserve, in whose water the peaks of the Kaiser Mountains are impressively reflected, there is a public bathing beach where you can also swim. A visit is also worthwhile if you don't want to swim, because the area around the lake with its meadows and forests invites the visitor and observer to linger and relax. Nice restaurants on the lake or near the lake complete the offer.
The lake tour is particularly beautiful. Again and again an impressive picture presents itself here, on the one hand the wonderful panorama and on the other hand the mountain peaks of the Wilder Kaiser are always reflected in the lake.
